Introduction
Welcome to The Frontier Letters ("we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website (thefrontierletters.com) and subscription services.
By subscribing to The Frontier Letters, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't subscribe.
We've written this in plain English because legal jargon is exhausting. But these are still legally binding terms, so please read them.
1. The Service
What We Provide:
The Frontier Letters is a subscription service that delivers:
▸ 24 physical letters over 48 weeks
▸ Period-authentic inserts (pressed flowers, maps, documents, etc.)
▸ Shipped via USPS to addresses within the United States
▸ Letters mailed on the 1st and 15th of each month
What We Don't Provide:
▸ Digital versions of letters
▸ Expedited or international shipping (at this time)
▸ Guaranteed delivery dates (we ship on schedule, but USPS timing varies)
▸ Replacement of damaged items due to rough handling by postal service (within reason)
2. Subscription & Payment
Subscription Term:
▸ Duration: 48 weeks (approximately 11 months)
▸ Frequency: One letter every two weeks (24 total letters)
▸ Price: $179.00 (one-time payment, no recurring charges)
▸ Non-Renewable: Subscription ends automatically after all 24 letters are delivered
Payment:
▸ Payment is due in full at time of subscription
▸ We accept major credit cards and debit cards
▸ All payments are processed securely through our payment processor
▸ Prices are in U.S. Dollars (USD)
No Automatic Renewal:
Your subscription will NOT automatically renew. After receiving all 24 letters, your subscription ends. If we launch future series, you'll receive an email invitation to subscribe separately—but nothing is automatic.
3. Shipping & Delivery
Shipping Schedule:
▸ Letters ship on the 1st and 15th of each month
▸ Your first letter ships on the next scheduled date after subscription
▸ Delivery typically takes 3-5 business days via USPS First Class Mail
Shipping Address:
▸ You must provide a valid U.S. mailing address
▸ We currently ship within the United States only
▸ You are responsible for providing accurate shipping information
▸ You can update your address by emailing [email protected] at least 5 days before next ship date
Lost or Damaged Mail:
▸ If a letter is lost or damaged in transit, contact us at [email protected]
▸ We will work with you to resolve the issue (replacement letter, tracking investigation, etc.)
▸ We are not responsible for delivery delays caused by USPS
▸ We are not responsible for letters delivered to incorrect addresses you provided
Undeliverable Mail:
If mail is returned as undeliverable due to:
▸ Incorrect address you provided
▸ Failure to update address after moving
▸ Refusal to accept delivery
You are responsible for providing a corrected address. We may charge a re-shipping fee for returned mail.
4. Refunds & Cancellations
30-Day Money-Back Guarantee:
▸ You may cancel within 30 days of your first letter's ship date for a full refund
▸ To cancel, email [email protected] with "Cancel Subscription" in subject line
▸ Refunds processed within 7-10 business days
▸ You may keep Letters 1-2 even if you cancel (no need to return them)
After 30 Days:
▸ No refunds after the first 30 days
▸ We've already produced, aged, and prepared your remaining letters
▸ Materials and labor costs are committed once we begin production
Subscription Pause:
▸ You may pause your subscription for up to 3 months (moving, traveling, etc.)
▸ Email [email protected] at least 5 days before next ship date
▸ Letters will resume shipping when you're ready
▸ Pausing does not extend the subscription period or entitle you to a refund
Cancellation After 30 Days:
If you cancel after the 30-day window:
▸ No refund will be issued
▸ You will stop receiving letters
▸ You will not receive remaining letters in the series
5. Intellectual Property
Ownership:
All content provided through The Frontier Letters—including but not limited to:
▸ Letter text and storytelling
▸ Character names and storylines
▸ Insert designs and artwork
▸ Website content and branding
▸ Photography and graphics
Is the exclusive property of The Frontier Letters / Callie McAllister and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Your License:
By subscribing, you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to:
▸ Read and enjoy the letters
▸ Keep letters as personal collectibles
▸ Share your experience on social media (photos, reviews, reactions)
You May NOT:
▸ Reproduce, copy, or distribute letter content commercially
▸ Scan and share full letter text online (excerpts for reviews are fine)
▸ Create derivative works based on the characters or story
▸ Sell or resell your letters as commercial products
▸ Use content for AI training, data scraping, or automated systems
Exception: Book clubs, reading groups, and personal sharing among friends/family is fine. We're talking about commercial use and wide distribution.
Fan Content:
▸ We love fan art, reviews, and social media posts! Feel free to:
▸ Post photos of your letters (please don't reproduce full text)
▸ Share reactions, theories, and reviews
▸ Create fan art inspired by the characters
▸ Discuss the story in book clubs or online communities
Just don't try to sell our content or claim it as your own.
6. User Conduct
You Agree To:
▸ Provide accurate contact and shipping information
▸ Use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes
▸ Not attempt to hack, scrape, or interfere with our website or systems
▸ Not harass, threaten, or abuse our staff via email or other communication
▸ Respect intellectual property rights
We Reserve the Right To:
▸ Refuse service to anyone for any reason
▸ Cancel subscriptions that violate these Terms
▸ Modify or discontinue the service (with notice to active subscribers)
7. Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
We Are Not Liable For:
▸ Delays or failures in delivery caused by USPS or other third parties
▸ Damage to letters caused by postal service handling
▸ Personal injury or property damage (this is paper mail, but lawyers make us say it)
▸ Lost profits, data, or business opportunities
▸ Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Maximum Liability:
Our total liability to you for any claims related to The Frontier Letters subscription will not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription ($179).
Exceptions:
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for:
▸ Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
▸ Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
▸ Any other liability that cannot be excluded by law
8. Disclaimers
"As Is" Service:
The Frontier Letters subscription service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
We Do Not Warrant:
▸ That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
▸ That letters will arrive on exact dates (USPS controls delivery)
▸ That inserts will be identical to photos (natural items vary, reproductions may vary slightly)
▸ That you will love every letter (art is subjective!)
Historical Accuracy:
While we research extensively, this is historical fiction. We strive for accuracy but may take creative liberties for storytelling purposes. Don't use our letters as historical documentation for academic papers.
9. Privacy & Data
What We Collect:
▸ Name and shipping address (to send letters)
▸ Email address (for order confirmation and shipping notifications)
▸ Payment information (processed securely, we don't store credit card numbers)
What We Don't Do:
▸ Sell your information to third parties
▸ Send spam or marketing emails (except occasional updates about the series)
▸ Share your data with anyone except as necessary to fulfill your subscription

10. Modifications To Terms
We May Update These Terms:
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make significant changes:
▸ We'll post updated Terms on our website
▸ We'll notify active subscribers via email
▸ Continued use of the service means you accept the updated Terms
Your Rights:
If you don't agree with updated Terms:
▸ You may cancel your subscription
▸ If cancellation is due to Terms changes you disagree with, we'll work with you on a fair resolution
11. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution First:
Before taking legal action, please contact us at [email protected] and give us 30 days to resolve the issue informally. Most problems can be solved with a conversation.
Governing Law:
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Jurisdiction:
Any legal disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Montana. By subscribing, you consent to the jurisdiction of these courts.
Arbitration:
If informal resolution fails, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration in Montana under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
Exception: Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights.
12. Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement:
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Frontier Letters regarding the subscription service.
Severability:
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
No Waiver:
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment:
You may not assign or transfer your subscription to another person without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms to another entity (e.g., if we sell the business).
Force Majeure:
We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, postal service strikes, pandemics, government actions, etc.).
13. Gift Subscriptions
Purchasing Gifts:
▸ Gift subscriptions follow all standard Terms
▸ Gift purchaser pays full amount
▸ Recipient receives Letters 1-24 over 48 weeks
▸ Gift purchaser cannot cancel on behalf of recipient after 30 days
Recipient Rights:
Gift recipients have the same 30-day cancellation right as regular subscribers. If they choose to cancel within 30 days, the refund goes to the original purchaser.

You can cancel: Within first 30 days for full refund
After 30 days: No refunds (we've already made your letters)

The content is ours: Don't try to sell our story or reproduce it commercially
Be cool: Don't harass us, don't hack our site, don't be a jerk
We'll try hard: But we can't control USPS or guarantee exact delivery dates
If there's a problem: Email us, we'll work it out like adults
Legal stuff: Montana law applies, disputes go to Montana courts or arbitration
Bottom line: We're providing a subscription letter service. You're paying for it. We'll do our best to make it amazing. You'll be respectful. If something goes wrong, we'll talk about it. That's it.
